We Learned This Ground the Slow Way — Trench by Trench
Providence Septic Services is a small, family-operated company serving Providence and the surrounding county. Danny Silva runs it the way he was taught to: dig the test pit even when you’re pretty sure you already know what’s down there.
Family-Operated, Providence County Based
No Jobs Farmed Out to Subcontractors
Meet Danny Silva
Danny grew up in Cumberland and spent a couple of years out of high school doing utility and paving work before he landed a job with Manny Pereira, who ran a one-truck septic pumping operation out of Smithfield. Manny had been at it for the better part of thirty years, and Danny spent the next several learning the parts of the job that don’t show up in a training manual — how to read what a test pit is actually telling you, how to tell shallow ledge apart from a rock you can dig around, when a distribution box looks fine but isn’t. When Manny decided to retire, Danny bought the truck and the client list rather than watch it get absorbed into one of the bigger regional outfits, and built Providence Septic Services from there.
He’s married to Carla, a nurse at a hospital in Providence, and they’ve got two kids — Danny coaches one of their youth soccer teams in Cumberland most falls. On the rare free Sunday, he’s fishing off the Bay. Manny had one rule he repeated more than any other: dig the test pit even when you’re pretty sure you already know what’s down there. Danny’s carried that forward. It’s slower, and it’s cost him a few jobs to companies willing to eyeball it and quote on the spot — but it’s also the reason he’s never had to go back and redo one.
Nothing Here Is Complicated
Most of it just comes down to not skipping the steps other companies skip when nobody’s watching.
We Show You What We Found
A verbal summary at the end of a job is easy to forget by the time you’re deciding whether to act on it. We take photos while the tank’s open or the test pit’s still dug — the actual baffle, the actual saturation line, the actual crack — and send them along with the invoice. If you ever need to reference it later, for a sale or a follow-up question, it’s there.
We Explain the Why, Not Just the What
Telling a homeowner “you need pumping every three years” without saying why is how you end up with someone who stops believing it after the second reminder call. We’d rather explain what’s actually driving your maintenance schedule — tank size, household size, how the field’s been holding up — so the recommendation makes sense on its own.
We Treat the Property Like We’ll Be Back
Backfilling properly, protecting landscaping we’re working around, not leaving equipment tracks across a lawn that didn’t need them — it’s a small thing on any single visit, but it adds up over years of coming back for the same property.
Our Services at a Glance
